Tournament Rules
Gameplay
- If a ball is hittable, it will be called a strike
- Fouls are always strikes, even strike 3
- No walks; after four balls the count resets
- Hit-by-pitch is a ball, not a free base
Teams & Equipment
- Everyone on the roster must bat. Only max of nine players allowed in the field. (minimum six)
- Teams must use the equipment provided. Equipment brought to the fields by teams will not be allowed during games
Innings
-
Games will be 4 innings or 30 minutes - whichever occurs first. There is a buffer time (10 mins) for extra innings / finish the home team inning if they are losing.
Pegging or Indian Rubber
- Runners not on a base can be put out by being hit with a thrown ball from a fielder
- It's OK for the throw to accidentally hit the runner in the head, but any throw deemed intentionally thrown at the head will result in all runners being safe and the thrower suspended for the rest of the event
Pitching
- Pitching must be slow-to-medium.
- A noticeable arc is required.
- No excessive speed or 'heat'.
Slide Rule
- Strictly no sliding or diving for baserunners. Runners must remain on their feet.
- Violation results in an automatic out.
Bunting
- Bunting is strictly prohibited.
- Bunt attempts count as a strike.
Home Team
- Settled by a coin toss.
- Occurs at field check-in.
- Winner chooses to field or hit
- First team to arrive at the field chooses dugout
In-Game Tiebreaker
(after 30 minutes)
- Similar to NHL Shootout: 3-person per team blast-off from second base. One self-tossed pitch each to see how many HR are hit. Extra rounds if still tied after three rounds can be done by anyone.
Standings Tiebreaker
- 1. Head-to-head winner
- 2. Run Differential
- 3. Fewest runs allowed
- 4. Most runs scored
- 5. Coin flip in a tie for seeding only. If one team is to be eliminated from championship contention, move to the in-game tiebreaker
Format
- 16 teams broken into four-team pods (one per field)
- Play every team in your pod in the 'regular season'
- The top two teams in each pod advance to the eight-team championship knockout
- Bottom two teams in each pod advance to eight-team consolation knockout

Home Run Derby Rules
Participation
Open to everyone! Players and even spectators are welcome to compete. Entries are $10 each at the merch tent, and you can enter as many times as you like to climb the leaderboard.
Qualifying
Batters have one minute to launch as many home runs as they can. We'll track all scores throughout the day, and the top four sluggers with the most homers will qualify for the grand finals.
Finals Format
The finals run as a head-to-head single-elimination bracket. High seeds get to choose if they hit first or second. The last hitter standing earns a permanent spot on the Derby Trophy and full bragging rights!
Timing
Rounds last for exactly 1 minute. Once time is up, any balls that have not left the pitcher's hand do not count.
Tie-breakers
If a preliminary round ends in a draw, we go to a swing-off. Each batter does one self-tossed pitch. The person who hits it the farthest advances. In the championship, a 30-second round will be held.
